From 27th November to 31st December 2024, 'Christmas at the Castle' is back, offering a festive experience for everyone.Wander through the Christmas Illuminated Light Walk, where the castle and its grounds are adorned with holiday lights for a striking display. Inside, the Festive House Experience features rooms decorated in seasonal decor. Enjoy a variety of food and beverage options from vendors on the grounds, all adding to the festive atmosphere. Christmas Grotto
Step into the magic of our Christmas Grotto, where you’ll be welcomed by the jolly man himself! Families are invited to meet Father Christmas, and if you’ve been good this year, he’ll have a special gift waiting just for you.Note: the timing is the arrival time for the grotto queue, not a guaranteed time of arrival. Expect a wait of up to 30 minutes on busiest sessions.

How can I book tickets?
Tickets for Christmas at the Castle can be purchased on our website from Friday 13th September.

Can I book tickets for two dates at the same time?
Unfortunately, we are only able to process orders for one date at a time.
You will need to book tickets for one date, check out and then continue to create a new order for the second date. This is to ensure that your tickets are all for the correct date intended.
Should I buy tickets from someone online?
Tickets should only be purchased from Powderham via our website. We cannot guarantee the validity of tickets being re-sold on social media, which may be a scam.
If you have tickets that you are no longer able to redeem, please contact our team by emailing christmas@powderham.co.uk and we will be happy to rebook you to an alternative date or refund your order.
My child is under 3, do I need to pay?
Children under 3 can visit Christmas at the Castle free of charge, you will still need to book an Under 3s ticket though.
If you’re planning on visiting Father Christmas, your Under 3s will need to have a grotto ticket. Babies under 1 can visit the grotto with older sibling(s) but will not be entitled to a grotto gift.
I can’t make my booked date, what do I do?
If you can no longer attend on the date you have booked, please email christmas@powderham.co.uk and a member of our team will be happy to move your booking to an alternative date, or offer you a refund.
I’m a carer, can I come for free?
Yes, our Carer Admission ticket must be purchased alongside the ticket of the supported person. Please note, you will need to provide Proof of Carer on arrival.
I’m a member, how do I book my free tickets?To book your complimentary member’s tickets, you will need to log into your account on the Powderham website before booking. If you are not logged in, the Member Admission ticket will not be visible. If you would like to become a member, you can find out more here.

My booking won’t go through, what do I do?
Our website is seeing a high volume of visitors, which may cause the ticket system to seem slower than usual. We recommend coming back at a later time if the problem persists.
I haven’t got confirmation of my ticket
If you haven’t received your confirmation email following your booking, please check your junk folder. If you are still unable to find your confirmation email, please email our team at christmas@powderham.co.uk
Grotto
Do I need to book for adults attending with children?
You will only need to book grotto tickets for children that wish to receive a gift from Father Christmas. Adults do not need to book if accompanying a child.
Do I need to book for my baby?
You will need to book a grotto ticket for your baby unless they are accompanying an older sibling(s). If you would like your baby to receive a gift also, you will need to book a grotto ticket for them.
We’re visiting Father Christmas, do I need to pay for an admission ticket?
Yes, you will need to book admission tickets and grotto tickets to visit Father Christmas.
Dogs
Can I bring my dog?
Your furry friend is more than welcome to visit Christmas at the Castle, and can go everywhere that you can. We just ask that they are kept on leads at all times, that you pick up after them, and are respectful of visitors around you.
Food and Drink
Will there be food and drink available?
We will have a selection of local food traders at Christmas at the Castle. There will also be festive favourites available across the site, and our bar serving local beer on tap.
Accessibility
Accessible Parking?
Accessible parking is available adjacent to the Welcome Centre, next to the ramp. Accessible parking is not available in the Courtyard during Christmas at the Castle.
Tramper Hire
We have an all-terrain tramper available to hire during Christmas at the Castle in conjunction with Countryside Mobility. The tramper is first come first served, and will require pre-booking by emailing christmas@powderham.co.uk
